Now the sun is slightly shining in Muswell Hill it is the season for Burrata, it is about as indulgent as cheese gets.
Burrata meaning “buttery” in Italian is a cheese made with a perfect mix of mozzarella and cream……Yes two perfect foods on there own put together to create, what can only be described as heaven.
The outside is made up by buffalo mozzarella but once but into it oozes stunning delicious rich flavoured cream. This is a fresh cheese so needs to be eaten pretty sharpish (not that it hangs around long in our house). It is best served at room temperature.
There are all sorts of ways to serve Burrata, it goes really well with salads, crusty bread, and prosciutto, fresh tomatoes with olive oil and with spaghetti.
There are some ideas on ways of doing it, My personal favourite is nice and simple on a plate with pesto, roasted tomatoes and a dash of olive oil. (as pictured)
